KARI BARBER-ARNOLD

My longtime friend and trainer Kari Arnold died yesterday. My husband and I were with Kari yesterday morning, and she seemed fine. She died in her home yesterday afternoon/evening. We don't know the cause of her death yet, and funeral arrangements have yet to be announced. It's hard to imagine her husband, Dan, and her four year old daughter, Skylar, without her. Many of you know Kari as a talented eventer and competitor who was a stalwart in the riding community. She competed internationally, rode in Rolex several times, organized Jubilee, managed Fox Creek Farms for years, and was on the Gold Medal Young Riders Team coached by Ralph Hill in the 1980's. Some of you will also remember that she was a former vice-president of ADS. Skylar was the apple of her mother's eye, and memorials may be made to the Dana Gonzales Education Fund for Skylar Arnold at the Capital Bank on Chenal Parkway--(501) 228-6000. It's a sad day for all of us in the riding community. We will all miss her greatly, and Wiz, Stella, and I will especially miss her!

ABOUT ADS

The Arkansas Dressage Society (ADS) is a nonprofit member organization of the United States Dressage Federation. ADS is dedicated to the sport of dressage.
Our dressage shows are located within an hour's drive of Little Rock.    We sponsor 5-6 schooling shows per year.   We also sponsor 2 one-day rated shows  (plus a breed show) over the last weekend in April at Diamond TR's fabulous new covered arena.

Additionally, we help sponsor rated shows in Tunica, Mississippi, hosted by our Memphis neighbor, the Delta Dressage Association. Tunica is less than three hours drive from Little Rock.

Our show season runs from March through October, wrapped-up with a dynamite awards banquet and silent auction in January. The Arkansas Dressage Society is available to all equine enthusiasts and sponsors whether or not you ride.   We invite you to join us.
